INDRAMAYU - The Crime Investigation Unit of the Indramayu Police, West Java, arrested a minimarket robber, whose perpetrator turned out to be an expelled employee.

"We secured the suspect in the minimarket robbery less than 10 hours after the incident," said Indramayu Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Fitran Romajimah, in Indramayu, Wednesday, May 1.

Fitran said the suspect, with the initials DP (19), carried out the action alone because the perpetrator knew exactly the situation around the minimarket location. Allegedly, the perpetrator was hurt because he was dismissed from his job.

The suspect entered when one of the employees was counting the money from the sale and immediately pointed a sharp weapon and asked for some money.

The suspect, continued Fitran, was a former employee of the minimarket who had been expelled so he knew when the place was deserted.

"The suspect asked and ordered the victim to take the money that was in the cashier's locker. After that, he immediately left the scene using a motorbike," he said.

The robbery of a mini market in Ujungjaya Village, Widasari District, Indramayu Regency occurred on Tuesday, May 31, at around 22:40 WIB.

Then on Wednesday June 1 2022 at around 03.00 WIB, the Resmob unit of the Indramayu Police Criminal Investigation Unit managed to secure the suspect thanks to the available instructions.

"Armed with CCTV footage, the suspect was immediately identified. The minimarket employee also suspected that the characteristics of the perpetrator were similar to his former colleague who has now been released. Then we immediately took the suspect to the Indramayu Police Headquarters for further investigation," he said.
