CENTRAL JAVA - Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo warned the public to be aware of monkeypox by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

"Yesterday there were indications based on reports from the health office, now further investigation is being carried out, including tracing, so we must be very careful because it is a virus, so a clean and healthy life must be maintained," said Ganjar during a working visit in Jepara Regency. , Central Java, Tuesday 31 May.

Ganjar explained that a healthy lifestyle includes adequate nutritional intake, the habit of washing hands before eating, then wearing a mask when you are sick.

According to Ganjar, all of this must be done with the awareness of each to take care of each other's health.

"You must have awareness, we have learned from the pandemic, so you really have to be aware, if you have a fever in your body, check it immediately because these are early indications that must be taken care of," he said.

Ganjar admitted that he had instructed the Central Java Provincial Health Office to continue to monitor the development of the monkeypox virus, although there was no indication that the disease had entered his area.

"Now we are continuously monitoring. For this one, we learned from the last COVID-19 pandemic," said the former member of the DPR.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently released 257 confirmed cases of monkeypox from 20 different countries.

The most cases are found in the United Kingdom, while in Indonesia until now there has been no confirmed case of monkeypox, but a number of neighboring countries are known to have such cases.

Although no cases have been found in Indonesia, the Ministry of Health has issued a circular regarding vigilance against monkeypox in non-endemic countries.

There are several symptoms that people should be aware of, including headaches, acute fever above 38.5 degrees Celsius, lymphadenopathy or enlarged lymph nodes, muscle pain, back pain and asthenia or body weakness.
