BNPT Increases Supervision To Prevent Terrorism Ahead Of The G20 Presidency In Bali

JAKARTA - Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Komjen Boy Rafli Amar expressed the BNPT's commitment to support and succeed the 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency.

"We will increase activities related to Indonesia hosting the G20, we will maximize our programs from pre, peak, until the end of the year after the implementation of the G20 in Bali and several cities in Indonesia," he said in a joint meeting with Commission III of the DPR in Jakarta. , May 30.

Komjen Boy Rafli said he would maximize the BNPT program in the context of preventing terrorism until the end of the G20 event at the end of the year.

He said BNPT would increase the frequency of coordination with law enforcement officers and local governments for terrorism prevention.

According to him, BNPT will strengthen the role and support of the community in preventing acts of terrorism from happening in the country.

"BNPT will coordinate security forces including local governments, we will certainly increase the frequency of coordination and strengthen community support," he said.

Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Ahmad Sahroni appreciated the presence of BNPT in national and international activities, especially the first G20 Presidency in Indonesia. According to Sahroni, all elements must provide support to BNPT both in terms of budget and implementation.

"This is a world event, therefore we ask for security from BNPT in preventing terrorism," said Sahroni.
