MAKASSAR - The Student Ambassador for the No-Smoking-No-Smoking Area (KTR) of Makassar City once again voiced the impact of the dangers of smoking. This campaign was voiced on World No Tobacco Day (HTTS).
Makassar City KTR Student Ambassador Abdillah said this campaign was a momentum to socialize the harmful effects of smoking, especially among teenagers.
"World No Tobacco Day (HTTS), together with our friends, we are voicing the dangers of smoking," he said at the Losari Beach Pavilion, Makassar City, Sunday, May 29.
KTR ambassadors have a role in socializing understanding to optimize KTR. Young people are expected to become counselors to support anti-smoking programs in schools.
On the commemoration of World No Tobacco Day, Abdillah and his friends from representatives of every school in Makassar City hoped that this campaign would be able to remind awareness of the dangers of smoking.
"This incident is a campaign and provides information related to the dangers of smoking, we hope that in the future, we and our ambassadors will continue to provide information regarding this to our friends at school," continued Abdillah.
Meanwhile, Head of the Non-Communicable Diseases and Mental Health Section of the Makassar Health Service, Adi Novrisa Perdana, said this campaign activity was an extension of the Makassar City government to prevent smoking among teenagers.
"This is a follow-up to the City's Commitment, Student Ambassadors of KTR are part of our extension, of course, we hope their presence can help their peers not to smoke," he said.
