Demo Reject Job Creation Law Today, 20 Thousand Joint Personnel Prepared

JAKARTA - As many as 20 joint personnel of the TNI-Polri and the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta were deployed to secure a demonstration against the Job Creation Law, from the Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) and labor unions at the State Palace.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said that all 20 thousand personnel were not immediately deployed to the field. Only 10 personnel were deployed.

"We have prepared around 10,587 personnel (who are already in the field) today," Yusri told reporters, Tuesday, October 20.

Meanwhile, the rest will only be lowered if there is an increase in the mass of the action or there is chaos at this time.

"We also reserve around 10 thousand personnel, which we reserve at two points. The first is at Monas then one is at the DPR building," he said.

Regarding the security scheme, said Yusri, his party did not only secure the DPR-RI building area and the State Palace. Several economic centers will also be secured by alerting joint personnel.

"We are doing security in the economic centers. We layer there and then there are also shopping centers," he said.

As for today, BEM SI and labor unions have held another demonstration related to the Job Creation Law. They asked President Joko Widodo to issue a Perppu to cancel the Job Creation Law.
