National Police Chief: When BBM Is Expensive, Cycling Can Be An Alternative To The Office

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo S Prabowo encourages the development of cycling culture as an alternative when the price of fuel oil (BBM) rises.

"When fuel is expensive, bicycles can be an alternative for carrying out activities or activities to the office or to other places," Listyo told reporters at the City Forest by Plataran Gelora Bung Karno, Central Jakarta, Sunday 29 May.

By using cycling as an alternative when there is a spike in fuel prices, he said, the burden on the community can be reduced.

Listyo, who is also the General Chair of the Indonesian Cycling Association (PB ISSI), also aspires to continue to develop the cycling community and culture in Indonesia, especially to become an alternative transportation for the community.

Besides being an alternative when there is a spike in fuel prices, cycling also has a good impact on the environment by reducing carbon gas emissions caused by the combustion of motorized vehicles.

"So, I think this bicycle culture is a healthy culture. Now it has become a demand for all of us," he said.

He also said that at this time, various new tourism sectors were being launched with routes for cycling. According to him, the presence of cycling routes in the new tourism sector can attract tourists, especially tourists who have a penchant for cycling.

Through the increase in tourists, he hopes that the people who live around the cycling route can use it to develop the economy in the region.

"It can also increase economic growth with the existence of new tourist spots that are used as bicycle routes. Of course, there will be many tourists, especially bicycle tourists," he said.

The opportunity for the birth of cycling tourism sites can also be used to attract investors to invest in these areas, especially investors who come from bicycle companies, both domestically and abroad.
