If The Odd Even 26 Points Even Cause Traffic Jams On The Alternative Route, The New Three Months Can Be Revised

JAKARTA - Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya will evaluate the implementation of odd-even in 26 areas in Jakarta after the policy has been implemented for three months.

"A three-month evaluation to see whether the addition of these 26 areas will have an impact on congestion on alternative roads or not," said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo in Jakarta, Saturday, May 28, quoted from Antara.

Polda Metro will also absorb input from the public who say that the expansion of the odd-even area will cause congestion on alternative routes.

According to a survey and research conducted by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, the expansion of the odd-even area to 26 areas is expected to reduce the volume of vehicles in the area by 45 percent.

"If it turns out that it causes congestion at other points that are more severe, we can evaluate this policy and then we propose to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to return to the 13 areas that are currently in effect. So we will see what the effect will be," he said.

Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya and the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service agreed to expand odd-even areas in Jakarta from 13 areas to 26 areas and will take effect on June 6, 2022.

Odd-even operating hours will start at 06.00 WIB to 10.00 WIB and in the afternoon from 16.00 WIB to 21.00 WIB.

The odd-even rule applies Monday to Friday. While Saturday, Sunday and national holidays, odd-even does not apply.
