JAKARTA - The point of application of the odd-even scheme in Jakarta has been increased or expanded. Currently, there are 26 locations that will enforce the policy.

"We have decided several things related to the expansion from 13 areas to 26 areas," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Friday, May 27.

The expansion of the even-odd points is based on the results of the coordination meeting between the Polda Metro Jaya and the DKI Provincial Government, in this case the Department of Transportation (Dishub) on May 25.

In addition, the expansion of this odd-even point also refers to Governor Regulation (Pergub) number 88 of 2019, concerning traffic restrictions with an odd-even system.

"Of the 26 areas, 13 areas are new areas (the application of odd-even, red)," said Sambodo.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the odd-even implementation in the capital would be expanded to 25 roads.

The odd-even implementation of 25 road sections had taken effect before the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, currently odd-even applies in 13 roads.

"Currently, there are still 13 odd-even roads, but it is currently being evaluated to increase to 25 roads," said Syafrin.
