JAKARTA - Commander of Longmarch Santri 212 Kiai Haji Nonop Hanafi appreciated the Chief of Army Staff (Kasad) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman for building the Syarif Abdurrachman Mosque in the Sunan Gunung Jati Tomb complex, Astana Village, Gunung Jati District, Cirebon Regency.

According to him, the construction of the mosque is a form of collaboration between the TNI and the people in defending the sovereignty of the Indonesian state.

"Anyone who collaborates with the people today, we support because our country is so vast from Sabang to Merauke with such a wide sea area, it is impossible to rely solely on the front guard of the TNI," said Kiai Nonop in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday 27 May.

Therefore, the awareness of the people to defend the sovereignty of the state is that there must be a common view about maintaining the existence and sovereignty of the nation and state.

"Therefore, the defense of the universal people by maintaining the awareness of the people through mosques is the same as maintaining the resilience of the country itself," he said, quoted by Antara.

Kiai Nonop then quoted the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad. which mentions that there are three dimensions of the fortress of the people, namely the mosque, the Koran, and zikrullah.

If you are close to the three forts, according to him, the people's defense is very strong from various potential attacks, both physical and non-physical viruses.

"Well, when the TNI is at the forefront of defending the country's sovereignty and collaborating with the people by building mosques, this automatically strengthens the tupoksi to maintain state sovereignty by building mosques because mosques, said Rasulullah SAW, are the strongholds of the people," Kiai Nonop.

He also hoped that in terms of maintaining state sovereignty between the TNI and the people it would continue to be realized because the TNI was born from the womb of the people who were assigned to be the vanguard in national defense.

"The TNI in its work must collaborate with the people, defend the interests of the people, and there is no such thing as a fortress, a wall, a barrier between the intimacy of the TNI and the people," he said.
