KULON PROGO - A number of officers at the Husnul Khotimah Cemetery, Dusun Hamlet, Donomulyo Village, Nanggulan District, Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, carried out excavations for the grave of the former chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dr. H Ahmad Syafii Maarif or Buya Syafii Maarif.

Tomb guard Husnul Khotimah Donomulyo Arifin said he received information around 11.00 WIB, then he and several other officers immediately carried out the excavation of the ground.

"We estimate that the excavation process will take about 3 hours. The location is a bit rocky," said Arifin, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 27.

Husnul Khotimah Cemetery is the burial place of Muhammadiyah members. Established 2 years ago with a burial area of one hectare and has been filled with 25 graves.

Previously, the Head of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir said the body of Prof. Dr. H Ahmad Syafii Maarif or Buya Syafii Maarif would be buried after the Asr prayer, and would be sent to the Husnul Khotimah Cemetery.

Before leaving for Kulon Progo, Buya Syafii's body was buried at the Gedhe Kauman Mosque, Yogyakarta.

"It will be prayed until Asr and after the Asr prayer will be sent to the cemetery," he said.
