YOGYAKARTA - The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta cooperates with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in planning, structuring, and revitalizing green open spaces in the Kemayoran complex, Central Jakarta.

Anies said the addition of green open spaces is part of efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to curb global warming and climate change.

"DKI Jakarta is tasked with reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent in 2030 and currently it has reached 26 percent. I am sure in three years it can reach 30 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, UGM Chancellor Prof. Panut Mulyono stated the need for synergy in development planning and problem solving in urban areas such as DKI Jakarta.

He hopes that UGM's cooperation with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in structuring green open spaces can be implemented immediately.

"Hopefully this cooperation can really be implemented in real work so that it will provide benefits for all three parties," he said.

The Managing Director of the Kemayoran Complex Management Center Medi Kristianto explained, the Kemayoran Complex Management Center manages 454 hectares of open area, including five hectares of forest with diverse vegetation, 40 hectares of golf courses that serve as water catchment areas and green open spaces, and 17 hectares of lakes for flood control. around Central Jakarta and North Jakarta.

He hoped that the signing of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation regarding the arrangement of green open spaces with UGM could be followed up with action.
