Golkar To PKB: Just Join First, Don't Ask For Miscellaneous Conditions

JAKARTA - Golkar Party DPP chairman Dave Akbarshah Fikarno said to the National Awakening Party (PKB), please join the United Indonesia Coalition, as long as you don't put forward any conditions.

For information, the United Indonesia Coalition was initiated by the Golkar Party, PAN, and PPP. The National Awakening Party (PKB) wanted to join the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) but on the condition that General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin became its presidential candidate.

"(PKB may) join, do not immediately ask for various conditions. Join first, we (Golkar, PAN, PPP) only join to advance, not to determine anything," said Dave in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 24.

Dave, who is also the son of the former deputy chairman of the Golkar Party's DPP, Agung Laksono, said the coalition formed by the three political parties was fluid and open. So go ahead if there are other political parties who want to join.

"There hasn't been any offer (from PKB), basically politics is fluid, it can be communicated; however, even though joining does not immediately ask for various conditions, join first," he said.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the United Development Party (PPP) DPP Arwani Thomafi said the United Indonesia Coalition did not limit exclusively the number of parties that would join.

"We are also open. For what reason? Because our position does not limit it exclusively; but yes (PKB) enters first, then we chat (chat) or have coffee about the presidential election, who is the presidential candidate, who is the vice president," said Arwani.

Regarding the determination of the presidential and vice presidential candidates that will be carried by the United Indonesia Coalition, Arwani said it must be seen from various aspects, such as character, electability quality, and must be reviewed by a team from the Coalition.

"Currently (United Indonesia Coalition) has not scheduled a presidential candidate, a vice presidential candidate; whether from internal KIB or outside. Wait for the next episode," he said.
