Taking Peaceful Path, Police Apply Restorative Justice To 40 Mukomuko Farmers Involved In Palm Oil Theft

MUKOMUKO - Mukomuko Resort Police, Bengkulu Police, freed 40 farmers suspected of stealing fresh fruit bunches (FFB) or oil palm fruit belonging to PT Daria Dharma Pratama (DDP) through restorative justice.

The company's palm oil theft case was resolved through restorative justice after both parties, namely PT. DDP as the reporter and 40 farmers as the reported agreed to make peace.

"Around 11.00 WIB, both parties came to the Resort Police to submit their intentions and goals. If they agree to resolve the problem without going through a trial or through restorative justice," said Mukomuko Police Chief AKBP Witdiardi in Mukomuko, Antara, Monday, May 23 .

He said that his party responded to the settlement of the case of the theft of fresh oil palm fruit bunches belonging to PT DDP through restorative justice.

Furthermore, his party invited the FKPD attended by Regent Mukomuko Sapuan, Chairman of DPRD Mukomuko Ali Saftaini, Kejari Mukomuko Rudi Iskandar, and Dandim to give advice because both parties agreed and asked for peace through restorative justice.

Director of the Akar Law Office (ALO) Zelig Ilham Hamka said his party would like to thank the Head of Police and members who have received it well.

Then his party also appreciates the steps taken by the Mukomuko Resort Police to solve this problem through restorative justice and hopes that restorative justice benefits all parties.

This means that these 40 people are able to meet their families again because they have been separated from their families for almost a week with their position as the backbone of the family.

"And once again, we thank the Chief of Police and the steps taken by the Chief of Police, Mukomuko," he said.

Previously, the Mukomuko Resort Police had named 40 suspects in the theft of oil palm fresh fruit bunches belonging to PT Daria Dharma Pratama (DDP).

In addition to arresting 40 suspects for theft of palm oil from the company, the police said they also secured evidence of oil palm harvesting tools or "orchids", cars, palm fruit, and mobile phones.
