JAKARTA - The body of a baby estimated to be 2 months old was found among piles of garbage at the West Flood Canal (BKB), Tanah Abang Area, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 23.

Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief Kompol Haris Kurniawan confirmed the discovery of the baby's body. The baby's body was found by a resident who was looking for a mineral water bottle at Kali BKB.

"Residents were picking up used bottles around the BKB when they saw the baby's corpse. The pus staff immediately went to the location to be evacuated," Kompol Haris told VOI, Monday, May 23.

Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. deployed 4 rescue personnel to evacuate the baby's body. Then the victim's body was taken to the RSCM for further action.
