BEKASI - Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum acknowledged that the position of the Acting Regent of Bekasi was widely targeted even though according to Law 10/2016 concerning Regional Head Elections, echelon II could only be occupied directly by the Minister of Home Affairs.

"Because even if this is the position of the Acting Regent of Bekasi, it still cannot be separated from a political position, because this is a public position, even if it is not through a campaign and not through an election," said Uu, the nickname of the West Java Deputy Governor in Bekasi Regency, as reported by Antara, Monday, May 23.

He acknowledged that there are many state civil servants who are targeting the position as Acting Regent of Bekasi by means of political lobbying.

The law also does not rule out the possibility that there will be a lot of friction that will arise when Dani Ramdan carries out his duties as the Acting Regent of Bekasi, both from the Bekasi Regency Government internally and from other external parties, including the community.

"But this position is a lot of people who want this position, many people like it, so it's natural if at one point it is pursued and sought by several people, then there is competition, there is intersection and others," he said. advised Dani Ramdan not only to solve various problems in Bekasi Regency, but also to embrace various elements of the community so that they gain support while on duty for approximately one year.

"I said earlier, build communication with all levels of society. The current position that has been mandated by God, essentially by the government must be carried out properly and fairly," he added.

Meanwhile, Dani Ramdan stated that he was very proud to be trusted again to be the regional head in Bekasi Regency for the second time. He considers the mandate imposed is a test that must be faced with full responsibility.

"Therefore, 'Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun', we are all from Allah and will return to Allah, and that position is a test. So on the one hand I am proud of this belief, but at the same time realize this test is getting worse. the weight and responsibility are also getting bigger," said Dani.
