JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo held a meeting at the National Police Headquarters.

The two of them discussed the process of holding the 2024 simultaneous General Elections (Election) and Regional Head Elections (Pilkada), especially regarding security.

"Especially with regard to securing the activities of the 2024 General Election and the 2024 Regional Head Election," said Hasyim to reporters, Monday, May 23.

The discussion of security is an important one. This is because the activities of this democratic party involve many people, so the potential for problems will arise.

Security will be carried out since the initial stages which are planned to roll on June 14, 2022.

"To secure, among others, procurement activities, then production and distribution of logistics. Then campaign security, security for polling activities, vote counting, to recapitulation at the national level," he said.

In addition to security, the meeting also discussed the mechanism for issuing police records for candidates. Because, it is one of the mandatory requirements that must be completed.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said his party was ready to help the KPU to create a safe and comfortable 2024 General Election and Regional Head Election.

Moreover, the democratic party will not rule out the possibility that it will be more complex. This is because the two electoral processes at the regional and national levels are held simultaneously.

"Which of course is because we know that the 2024 General Election is much more complex, because it is from a simultaneous implementation perspective. So it is necessary to prepare early security, and of course it is related to the security process, starting from administrative matters to security matters. things that are physical security in the field," said Sigit.
