Depok Wants To Be The Target Area For The First Phase Of COVID-19 Vaccination

JAKARTA - The Depok City Government in West Java Province wants its area to be a priority target in the implementation of the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination.

"We ask residents to be patient waiting for the COVID-19 vaccine and urge residents to continue to implement strict health protocols to avoid transmission of COVID-19," said Depok Mayor Dedi Supandi in Depok as quoted by Antara , Saturday, October 17.

"Be patient while waiting for the vaccine. But be patient here in the context of continuing to work within the limits regulated by health protocols," he added.

Dedi said that according to an estimate that the COVID-19 vaccine will be available by the end of November 2020 and the city government is trying to get priority to access the vaccine.

West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has proposed to the central government that Depok City be the target area for the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination.

He said that Depok City was the area with the highest level of COVID-19 transmission in West Java Province, therefore it must be a priority target in the implementation of the first phase of vaccination.
