MATARAM - The Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of Mataram City, NTB, noted that as many as 14 prospective pilgrims from Mataram had canceled their departure for the 2022 hajj season.

Head of the Mataram City Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) HM Amin said those who did not go to Makkah had different reasons.

He explained, from the 401 quota of hajj candidates from that city who paid the cost of organizing the hajj pilgrimage (BPIH) until the deadline on Friday, May 20, as many as 387 people.

"The remaining 14 people did not make payments. Previously there were three people who died and the rest stated that they had resigned, for various personal reasons," he said.

Thus, as many as 14 unfilled portions of Mataram City Hajj candidates were returned to the NTB Ministry of Religion Regional Office, to be replaced by reserve candidates according to the portion numbers.

This means, Amin said, in determining the departure of the congregation who are in the reserve quota, it is entirely determined by the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of NTB, according to the portion number for the entire NTB.

"Although there are 74 reserve hajj candidates in Mataram, we don't have the authority to determine reserve candidates," he said.

This means, he said, as many as 14 quotas that were returned belonging to the City of Mataram will not return to Mataram City again, because the NTB Regional Office will determine according to the portion number of Hajj candidates throughout NTB.

"It could be that the congregation number is closer, the congregation is in Bima Regency, or others. But we still hope to get more," he said.

Amin further said that if Mataram City did not get additional quota from the reserve hajj candidates, then the Mataram City congregation that would depart for the Holy Land would only be one flying group (kloter) or a whole group.

"If there is a lesson in one group, we can be more focused and maximally monitor and guide the implementation of the pilgrimage for all pilgrims," he said.

Referring to the preparation of the congregation, Amin said that currently the pilgrims of Mataram City Hajj candidates are still following the guidance of the free Hajj rituals carried out by the Mataram City Association of Indonesian Hajj Brothers (IPHI), trash Saturday, May 28.

"As for administration, such as passports, the visa issuance process is in progress. The congregation's suitcases are also ready," he said.
