JAKARTA - The Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Ali Mochtar Ngabalin said the Presidential Palace had not received any proposals regarding the names of the three candidates for the acting governor of DKI Jakarta to replace Governor Anies Baswedan.

Ngabalin admitted that his party had heard that there were three names that were proposed by the DKI Jakarta DPRD, namely Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province Marullah Matali, and Deputy IV KSP for Political Information and Communication Juri Ardiantoro.

"If it's a discourse that is developing in the DPRD, that's fine, but from the Palace and the President (Joko Widodo) there has been no update on the latest information about this," said Ngabalin when met at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, May 23.

According to him, the criteria for qualified candidates for the governor of DKI Jakarta were left to the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian.

Previously, Tito revealed the criteria for the acting governor of DKI Jakarta that must be met to replace Anies Baswedan's task of leading the capital city. The criteria for the candidate are a middle high leadership official or the equivalent of an echelon one official.

The Ministry of Home Affairs will also make profiles of candidates for the governor of DKI Jakarta to find out the potential cases they face.

As is known, the term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan will end on October 16. The government, through the Ministry of Home Affairs, will appoint an acting governor to fill vacancies prior to the simultaneous regional head elections (Pilkada) in 2024.
