JAKARTA - Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman denied that his plan to marry Idayati, who is President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s younger brother, was a political marriage.

Anwar said this when he was going to visit the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in Solo to take care of his plans to marry Idayati.

"No," said Anwar briefly, quoted from the Surakarta News YouTube channel, Monday, May 23.

Anwar explained that marriage is one of the fates whose provisions have been arranged by God. As a religious person, he continued, we should believe that.

"Remember three things: death, sustenance, Allah's right. If we deny that, naudzubillah," he said.

"If God has determined me with the 'daughter of Solo' Mba Ida, what will I say," he continued.

The man who was born in Bima also dismissed the issue that his love relationship with Jokowi's younger brother was connected because someone introduced him first.

Anwar Usman and Idayati are known to plan to go up the aisle on May 26. The second application was held in Solo on March 12.

Before heading to the KUA office in Solo, Anwar first attended the Bima-Dompu family's halal bihalal event in the area. The event, which was initiated by the Deputy Chairman of the Solo DPRD, Taufiqurrahman, took place yesterday, Sunday, May 24.

Anwar said he was ready to ask for Ida's hand. After visiting KUA in Solo, he flew to Jakarta and plans to come back two days before his wedding.

"Back to Jakarta, because there is a trial. Later, maybe on 24 [May]," he said.
