UPDATE COVID-19 As Of May 22: 227 New Cases, 285 Cured

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today.

The cumulative total of cases stands at 6,052,590 since the first cases were announced on March 2.

Meanwhile, new cases per day reached 227 people.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 285 today, bringing the total to 5,892,411 recovered.

Positive confirmed cases who died increased by 3 people, and the total was 156,522 people.

Meanwhile, the province with the most new cases was DKI Jakarta with 110 new cases and a total of 1,249,742 cases. Consists of 94 local transmissions and 16 foreign travelers (PPLN).

Followed by Banten with 27 new cases and a total of 289,664 cases. It consists of 27 local transmissions and 0 PPLN.

Then, East Java with 25 new cases and a total of 576,092 cases. Consists of local transmission 25 and 0 PPLN.

Next is West Java with 19 new cases and a total recorded case of 1,106,260. Consists of local transmission 19 and 0 PPLN.

Then, Central Java with 10 new cases and a total of 627,517 cases. Consists of local transmission 10 and 0 PPLN.

Then Bali with 10 new cases and a total of 157,502 cases. Consists of 6 and 4 PPLN local transmissions.

Banten has the largest number of recovered cases today, with an additional 100 cases. Then, followed by DKI Jakarta with 89 cases recovered. Then, East Java with the addition of 26 cases, and West Java with 17 cases recovered.

"The highest death cases were in DKI Jakarta with 2 people. Then Southeast Sulawesi," said Ministry of Health data, Sunday, May 22.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined per day is 62,661. While cumulatively it reached 98,090,610. As for the details, 40,646,459 were examined by RT-PCR, 288,703 by the TMC method and 57,155,448 people were tested for antigen.

"For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 2,477 people," he said.

Then, the weekly positivity rate for people from 15 to 21 May 2022 is 0.23 percent. While the daily positivity rate is 0.49 percent.

Currently, the number of people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination has increased by 39,277 and the total has reached 199,883,553 people, and the second dose of vaccination has increased by 72,895, the cumulative total has reached 166,837,615 people.

The third dose of vaccination increased by 188,452 and the total reached 44,099,737. Meanwhile, the vaccination target reached 208,265,720 people.
