COVID-19 Update As Of May 21: 263 New Cases, Healed 254

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 78,614 specimens were examined with the results of 263 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,052,363 people and active cases have increased by 3 to 3,718 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Friday, May 20.

Today's recovered cases increased by 254 cases, bringing the total to 5,892,126 people recovered. Then, there were 6 positive confirmations that died and a total of 156,519 people.

The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 93 cases and a total of 1,249,632 cases. Followed by East Java with 39 new cases with a total of 576,067 cases. West Java has 34 new cases and a total of 1,106,241 cases. Then, Banten with 25 new cases and a total of 292,909 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 81 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 35 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 30 recovered cases, and Bali with an additional 27 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 98,027,949.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.32 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 3,749 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 199,844,276 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 166,764,720 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

Meanwhile, the third dose of vaccination is 43,911,285. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
