JAKARTA - Former Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto joined the Indonesian Doctors Association (PDSI) after receiving a letter of termination of membership from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI).

Terawan Communications Team member, Andi said Terawan had received a letter of dismissal from IDI.

However, Andi did not explain exactly when the letter was received. Furthermore, for the sake of humanity, Terawan will help raise PDSI.

"I will participate in building PDSI because I have no place to take shelter anymore. The talents that God has given us must be useful to help the community," Terawan said, as quoted by Andi from a written statement, Friday, May 20.

He said Terawan would not respond to the statement by the General Chair of the IDI Executive Board Moh Adib Khumaidi that IDI would not refuse if the three - star retired general of the Indonesian Armed Forces rejoined .

"In the name of humanity, Mr. Terawan is determined to raise PDSI," he said.

PDSI is chaired by former special staff Terawan Brigadier General TNI (ret) Dr Jajang Edi Priyanto. Jajang declared the establishment of PDSI on April 27, 2022.

Jajang has asked Terawan to be a protector in the management of the organization he leads.

The three-star general, who was also the Head of the Gatot Soebroto RSPAD Jakarta, invited his colleagues to join in to raise PDSI.

"So that we can develop more advanced health sciences, I invite colleagues who serve in the TNI, Polri, ASN, private sector, professionals as well as doctors and students at home and abroad to join PDSI," Terawan said to Andi.

Terawan's dismissal from IDI's membership began with the recommendation of the IDI's Medical Ethics Honorary Council (MKEK) at the 31st IDI Congress in Aceh, March 25, 2022.
