JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has reported allegations of misappropriation of budgets and permits related to procurement, fattening, and insemination of cattle to the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit. The complaint always results in the emergence of the issue of mouth and nail disease (PMK) just before Eid al-Adha.

"I filed a public complaint regarding alleged irregularities in the cow case," said Boyamin Saiman, Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), to reporters, Friday, May 20.

The allegation of budget irregularities in the insemination process is due to fees being withdrawn from the farmers. In fact, according to Boyamin, there was no cost involved in the process.

Then, for the fattening process, allegations of fraud occurred in budget management.

Meanwhile, the alleged violation of the cattle import permit was due to conditions that were not met by the importers. Thus, this is suspected to be the cause of the rise of PMK cases.

"There are some live cattle that are imported for this purpose, which are suspected to be ineligible, but they are still given so that it turns out that some are actually sick," said Boyamin.

"So I took steps to report this alleged irregularity related to state budgets or related to permits," he continued.

The alleged violations reported were not without evidence. Boyamin has attached some information and instructions for investigators to follow up.

"There are one or two (evidence, ed). Leave it to my friends, after all, they have more authority to ask the relevant Ministries. But I have given the clue," said Boyamin.
