SK Teacher PPPK In Surabaya Hasn't Been Dropped, DPRD Pushes For Acceleration Of NIK Applications

SURABAYA - Commission D for Education Sector DPRD Surabaya City encourages the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) to speed up the process of submitting Employee Identification Numbers (NIP) for hundreds of Government Employee Teachers with Work Agreements (PPPK).

"We encourage BKN to speed up the administrative process for these PPPK teachers. So that they are not unemployed for a long time," said Chairman of Commission D of the Surabaya DPRD, Khusnul Khotimah in Surabaya, as reported by Antara, Friday, May 20.

Khusnul said that his party received a number of complaints from hundreds of teachers who were accepted as first aid workers during a recess in the North Surabaya area a few days ago.

In accordance with the mandate of Law Number 5 of 2014 concerning State Civil Apparatus (ASN), he continued, teacher PPPK is included in the category of State Civil Apparatus (ASN). Like ASN, teacher and non-teacher PPPK get salaries from the state

According to him, the fate of the hundreds of PPKK teachers in Surabaya is still unclear because they do not know when the decision letter (SK) for their appointment will be issued and where they will be placed.

"We are concerned about the fate of these PPPK teachers. When I held a recess, they complained about their unclear status," said Khusnul.

The legislator from the PDI-P faction said that the number of PPKK teachers who passed the first stage was 470 teachers. For the first stage, there are no problems, because on June 2, it will be immediately confirmed where they will be placed. As for the number of PPKK teachers who have passed the second stage, continued Khusnul, the number is 413 people. It is this second stage PPK teacher whose fate is still unclear.

Khusnul said that the majority of PPPK teachers who passed the second stage served in private schools. Since it was announced that they were accepted as first aid teachers, there were schools that immediately stopped their work. That means the teachers are unemployed.

"Since they were appointed as PPPK teachers, these teachers have been unemployed waiting for the decree from BKN to come down. Even though they have needs that must be met. Especially if someone has dependents. So I hope that the administrative process at BKN will be completed soon," he said.
