BANYUMAS - The Banyumas City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Polresta) uncovered cases of theft in five schools and 1 office in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, involving a child as one of the perpetrators.

"This case was revealed thanks to a report from SD Negeri 2 Pliken, Kembaran District, Banyumas, who experienced the theft on Tuesday, May 17," said Banyumas Police Chief Kombes Edy Suranta Sitepu accompanied by Satreskrim Head Kompol Agus Supriadi Siswanto in Purwokerto, Banyumas as reported by Antara, Thursday, May 19.

The last theft case occurred at SD Negeri 2 Pliken. This was first noticed by the school guard on Tuesday at around 05.15 WIB when he was cleaning the school environment.

The school keeper felt strange because the office room lights were on and the roof tiles were in disarray. So, continued Edy, the person concerned checked into the room.

"When the school guard checked the room, it turned out that 1 unit of a black Toshiba brand C-645 laptop and Rp. 300 thousand in cash was not in its place. The incident was immediately reported to the police," said Edy.

Meanwhile, according to Kasatreskrim, the Banyumas Police Satresmob Resmob Unit after receiving the report of the theft immediately conducted an investigation. During the investigation, the team obtained information regarding the whereabouts of the alleged perpetrator at a hotel located on Jalan Martadireja 1, East Purwokerto District, Banyumas.

Therefore, Resmob Unit officers immediately went to the hotel and searched one of the rooms in which there was a child with the initials MR (16), a resident of Pliken Village.

"During the search, officers from the Resmob Unit found 1 unit of a black Toshiba brand C-645 laptop," he said.

Kompol Agus said that the Resmob Unit officers immediately interrogated MR and received information that the laptop was the result of a criminal act of theft with the weights carried out with his colleague with the initials AD.

Based on this information, the Resmob Unit officers immediately took MR to the Banyumas Police Satreskrim Office for further examination. Alluding to other perpetrators, he said that his party had included AD in the wanted list (DPO).

"After the development, MR and the Army, who are currently being pursued, were found to have stolen a number of schools (4 schools) and offices in Banyumas, including SMPN 4 Contributing, SMK Mulia Husada Contributing, SMAN 1 Sokaraja, Kindergarten Aisiyah Purwokerto Barat, and the Pasir Muncang Village Office," he said.

Because MR is still 16 years old, he said, further investigations into the case were handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Banyumas Police Satreskrim.

"Although he is still 16 years old, it is known that MR is no longer in school," explained Kasatreskrim.
