Vanessa Angel Charged 6 Months For Psychotropic Possession Case

JAKARTA - The defendant in the case of psychotropic possession, Vanessa Angel, was sentenced to six months in prison by the public prosecutor at the West Jakarta District Court, Thursday, October 15.

"The six-month charge with a fine of Rp10 million, a subsidiary of three months in prison," said Head of Intelligence at the West Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office, Edwin Beslar in Jakarta, as reported by Antara .

The prosecutor found Vanessa Angel guilty of possession of psychotropic drugs in the form of 20 Xanax pills which she obtained by prescription from an expired doctor.

Vanessa violated Article 62 of Law No. 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics in conjunction with Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 49 of 2018 concerning Amendments to the Classification of Psychotropics in the Appendix to Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics.

During the trial, the prosecutor stated that he did not find anything that could erase the defendant's guilt, both justification and excuse.

What is burdensome for Vanessa Angel's demands is that her actions do not support government programs in the eradication of psychotropic abuse.

In addition, Vanessa has also been convicted of other criminal cases.

After reading the charges, Vanessa through her attorney filed an objection or pledoi, because she had a baby who still needed breast milk from her.
