Questioning The Price Of The Formula E Ticket That Allegedly Made Ancol Come Up Short

JAKARTA - The price of tickets for Formula E spectators, which are currently being sold, has been questioned by a number of parties, including the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi.

In the Formula E event in Ancol, the cheapest ticket is sold for IDR 250 thousand. This ticket is not located in the circuit arena, so the audience is provided with a large screen to watch the race live.

Spectators who buy tickets for the Ancol Festival category can also enter one of the rides from three areas, namely Dufan, Lumba-Lumba (Ocean Arena), and Festival Beach.

Praseto's question is, when the audience buys Ancol Festival tickets in the Dufan area, there is a possibility that Ancol will suffer a loss.

Because the ticket price for Dufan plus entry to Ancol is Rp. 248,535. When the audience pays a ticket of IDR 250 thousand and is able to enjoy this ride, there is only IDR 1,465 remaining compared to the bundling price.

“Ancol is a BUMD. A company that has to make a profit. Don't let Ancol who admits that he has lost because of the pandemic, is getting worse because of Formula E," Prasetyo said in a statement quoted on Tuesday, May 17.

Therefore, the Coordinator of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD said that his party would summon Ancol to ask how much Formula E had boosted Ancol's income, how much was the value of the cooperation contract that Ancol obtained to lease the land, and how much money was obtained from selling Formula E tickets.

"I will call Ancol to ask about the model of cooperation with Formula E," he said.

For information, the Formula E tickets, which will be held in Ancol on June 4, 2022, are sold from IDR 250 thousand to IDR 10 million. Vice President Communication Organizing Formula E Jakarta, Iman Sjafei explained, there are four types of arenas to watch Formula E provided, namely Ancol Festival, Circuit Festival, Grand Stand, as well as VIP and VVIP.

Facilities from the cheapest to the most expensive ticket categories include access to Ancol and various rides in it, including Fantasy World, Sea World, Atlantis, Festival Beach, and so on. However, this does not include Faunaland and Gondola.

For a ticket for IDR 250 thousand, the benefits that will be obtained are visiting the electric stage (Dufan), the vibrant stage (Dolphins) or the sustainable stage (Beach Festival). In addition, the audience can watch through a large LED screen and Ancol recreation, except for Faunaland and Gondola.

"Jakarta E-Prix also provides tickets for the bravery stage category. By pocketing this ticket, visitors or spectators can watch music performances in the middle area of the circuit and get access to Alianz E-Village," said Iman.

In addition, this category will also provide parking space and shuttle buses in the JIEXPO Kemayoran area.

Furthermore, the Jakarta E Prix also provides tickets for the Grand Stand category. In this category, spectators can see the circuit area directly and sit on chairs and covered by a roof.

In addition, the audience can enjoy other entertainment such as access to Alianz E-Village, the festival circuit and recreation in Ancol, except for Faunalan and Gondola.

Meanwhile, for the VVIP and VIP categories, the Jakarta E-Prix has prepared five categories with premium and private locations, namely at Ombak Laut Suite with a ticket price of IDR 2 million, Jimbaran Suite IDR 3 million, Segarra Suite IDR 3 million, Jakarta Deluxe Suite IDR 7, 5 million, up to the Jakarta Royal Suite for Rp. 10 million.

"VVIP and VIP spectators will watch the race through the best seats from the view area right in front of the track," he added.
