Bobby Nasution Invites Buddhists To Develop Buddhist Values Of Love On Vesak Day

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution invited all Buddhists to develop the value of Buddhist love in their daily lives.

"At the moment of Vesak Day 2566 BE or this year, let's develop the value of Buddha's love everyday," he said in his written remarks for the 2022 Vesak celebration read by the Head of the Medan City Culture Service OK Zulfi in Medan, reported by Antara, Monday, May 16.

He said this at a local Buddhist Vesak celebration held by the Mohan Vihara Loka Shanti Foundation on Jalan Karya Pembangunan Medan, North Sumatra.

This year's Vesak celebration, he continued, was different from the previous two years, which was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, Buddhists celebrate Vesak with joy and joy, partly because of the sloping pandemic case.

However, Bobby Nasution reminded Buddhists in this area to maintain health protocols so that people can live a new normal life as expected.

"Of course the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Medan City affects our life activities. Although we are now starting to rise, we must maintain health protocols and hygiene discipline," he said.

The Mayor of Medan also said that the conducive atmosphere of the community was well maintained in the city of Medan.

Therefore, this condition should be grateful because this nation maintains tolerance and respect between followers of different religions.

"The attitude of tolerance in the life of the Indonesian people is the capital to build a more advanced Indonesian nation," he said.
