MAKASSAR - The Head of the Corruption Prevention Coordination and Supervision Task Force Region IV Corruption Eradication Commission Niken Ariati praised the South Sulawesi Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) which is integrated with the Coastal and Small Island Zoning Plan (RZWP3K).

“We appreciate the South Sulawesi Province which is progressively finalizing the Regional Regulation No. 3 of 2022 concerning the Provincial RTRW," Niken said in Makassar as reported by Antara, Monday, May 16.

The Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman along with the ranks of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government and the support of the South Sulawesi DPRD succeeded in ratifying Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2022 concerning the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) of South Sulawesi Province for 2022-2041.

"This regional regulation is the first in Indonesia to integrate the land space dimension with the marine space dimension in accordance with Law No. 11/2020 and PP No. 21/2021," said Niken.

He also hopes that other regional governments can follow in the footsteps of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government in preparing the RTRW which is integrated with the RZWP3K. Moreover, this is the first regional integration regulation in Indonesia.

This regional regulation, he said, could open a regulatory deadlock and become a reference in policy making, especially regarding spatial planning in the province of South Sulawesi.

"This regional regulation can also be a reference for other regional governments to immediately establish an integrated provincial RTRW," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Spatial Planning for the South Sulawesi PUTR Service Andi Yurnita said the South Sulawesi Governor and DPRD had signed the approval for the ratification of the South Sulawesi Province RTRW Regional Regulation for 2022-2041.

"In the Regional Regulation on RTRW of South Sulawesi Province, the result of integration with RZWP3K, which is the first regional regulation of integration in Indonesia. This regulation was issued under the direction of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation," he explained.

After being ratified, it is now necessary to disseminate information to all stakeholders, both at the provincial and district/city levels throughout South Sulawesi.

"This regional regulation will be a reference for the revision of the Regency/City RTRW in South Sulawesi. Currently, we are starting to receive comparative study visits from several other provinces to learn about the integration of this RTRWP," he said.

The regional regulation includes a spatial structure in the form of an activity center and infrastructure network as well as spatial patterns in the form of protected areas, settlements, forestry, marine, mining, agriculture, and the environment.
