Vesak Holidays, Traffic For GT Soroja Bandung Is Busier Than Eid

BANDUNG - The volume of vehicular traffic entering and leaving the Soreang-Pasirkoja (Soroja) Toll Gate during the long holiday of the 2022 Vesak Day is busier than this year's Lebaran season.

Head of Operations Section for Soroja Toll Traffic Services, PT Citra Marga Lintas Jabar, Yanyan Daryana, said that during the 2022 Eid holiday, the volume of vehicles passing through the Soroja GT is not much different from the general long holiday.

"If the Lebaran holiday is only around 35-40 thousand, it's still normal, but the increase in this long holiday to around 48 thousand vehicles is extraordinary," said Yanyan in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Monday, May 16.

According to him, the increase in vehicle volume began to be felt on Friday (13/5). On that day, as many as 45 thousand vehicles passed the GT Soroja.

On Saturday (14/5), the number of vehicles increased to 48 thousand units. Meanwhile, on Sunday (15/5), the number of vehicles was not as much as the previous two days. "Last Sunday was normal, but today it looks like there will be a lot too," he said.

Thus, during the Vesak long holiday, there is an increase of around 10 thousand vehicles passing through GT Soroja compared to previous long holidays or holiday holidays.

In addition, he said, when compared to weekends or other long holidays in 2019, the volume of vehicles during the 2022 Vesak Day long holiday increased by about 20 percent.

With this figure, the Soroja Toll road manager together with the police had several times engineered when there was a long line of vehicles.

"Yesterday there was engineering, the vehicle was directed to exit at the East Kutawaringin GT, because the traffic at the Sadu T-junction is quite heavy," he said.
