The signing of the agreement itself was carried out in London on Friday (13/5) by Yana with Global Head of Client Relations at BNEF Benji Kafri, witnessed by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and CEO of Bloomberg Finance John Moore.

Anies, who previously had the opportunity to have a meeting with the Chief Editor of BNEF, said that the City of Jakarta has a target to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

In addition, Anies also explained about the development of sidewalks as pedestrian paths, then bicycle lanes, the integration of multi-modal public transportation, and many other initiatives.

"The relationship with TransJakarta is the target for electrification of 50 percent of the TransJakarta fleet by 2025 and the electrification of the entire TransJakarta fleet by 2030, including policies related to 'sustainable mobility'," he said.

There is also the collaboration between TransJakarta and BNEF, which is a provider of strategic research on global commodity markets and disruption technology, which is expected to help drive the transition to a low-carbon economy.

"And the target of achieving 'nett zero emission' is through the electrification of TransJakarta buses," said Yana Aditya.

According to Yana, this collaboration is a form of implementation of the DKI Provincial Government's commitment to participate in the achievement of a fossil fuel-free road map initiated by C40 Cities.

"Following that, we are committed to transitioning conventional buses to electric buses with a target of 50 percent of buses by 2025 and as a whole by 2030," he said.
