Flight Test Success, COMAC Fulfills 815 C919 Aircraft Orders From 28 Buyers

JAKARTA - The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) has successfully completed a series of inaugural flight tests of its C919 aircraft on Saturday in Shanghai.

Quoted from Antara from the official COMAC website, Sunday, the plane was immediately sent to China Eastern Airlines.

The plane took off from Pudong International Airport at 06:52 local time (05:52 western Indonesia time) and landed again at Shanghai's largest airport at 09:54.

COMAC stated that a series of flight tests were on schedule, with good performance and condition.

C919 is an aircraft with a capacity of 158-168 passengers equipped with luggage with a cruising range of 4,075-5,555 kilometers.

The aircraft was the first to flight test in 2017. Since 2019, six project C919 aircraft have carried out a series of flight tests.

In 2020, the aircraft entered the airworthiness certification process by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

Then in March 2021, COMAC signed a contract for the purchase of five C919 units with China Eastern Airlines as well as marking its entry into the commercial market.

According to the plan, the aircraft will serve flights from Shanghai to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu.

To date, COMAC has received 815 orders for the C919 type aircraft from 28 buyers spread across various countries.
