West Java Pushes For COVID-19 Vaccination After Eid Holidays

BANDUNG - The West Java Provincial Government is pushing for the implementation of the first, second and third doses of COVID-19 vaccinations after the end of the 2022 Eid holiday period.

The Head of the West Java Provincial Health Office, Nina Susana Dewi, said that the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination services had decreased during the holidays and Eid holidays, but began to increase again after the holiday period ended.

"At the beginning of work, the average vaccination rate was 11,005 doses per day. However, now the average speed of West Java also shows quite positive progress with an average number (vaccine injections) of 33,098 doses per day," he said, quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 14th.

According to the calculation of the Health Service, the implementation of the first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccination in the West Java region can be completed on June 30, 2022 if 311,238 doses of COVID-19 vaccine can be injected in a day.

"We must be optimistic that it can be achieved by the end of June this year," said Nina.

"The maximum daily vaccination speed that has ever been achieved by West Java has reached 468,602 doses on October 14, 2021, it is not impossible that this could be repeated and the achievement of vaccinations in West Java for doses 1 and 2 could soon reach 100 percent," he added.

West Java Province requires a supply of around 22 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to complete the vaccination on June 30, 2022.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, the total target for COVID-19 vaccination in West Java Province is 37,907,814 people.

Until May 12, 2022, according to data from the West Java Provincial Health Office, the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination has covered 95.09 percent of the target, the second dose of vaccination has covered 81.89 percent of the target, and the third dose of vaccination has covered 27.57 percent of the target.
