KSP Calls BSU A Form Of State Concern For Labor Welfare

JAKARTA - The Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office, Fadjar Dwi Wishnuwardhani, said that the re-implementation of the Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) program is a form of state concern for the welfare of workers. Fadjar emphasized the BSU Program to maintain the purchasing power of eligible workers and workers, as well as a stimulus for economic recovery. "BSU is a reflection that the Government cares about and cares for the condition of the people, especially workers and workers," said Fadjar, in a press release in Jakarta, Saturday, May 14. Fadjar explained, BSU 2022 targets workers or laborers with salaries below Rp. 3.5 million. He said the beneficiaries are workers or laborers who have been registered as active participants of the BPJS Employment program, as well as workers who are not State Civil Servants (PNS) and members of the TNI/POLRI. to increase economic resilience," he explained. Fadjar said the wage subsidy policy has not been done in various countries. He gave an example of Canada in 2021 having provided subsidies to companies or employers, to prevent the impact of layoffs due to a decrease in income during the COVID-19 pandemic. "The difference with us (Indonesia) is that subsidized assistance is given directly to workers and laborers," he explained. According to information, the government has allocated the 2022 BSU budget of Rp. 8.8 trillion, with an allocation of assistance per recipient of Rp. 1 million. The Ministry of Manpower is currently working hard to immediately finalize the details of the criteria and disbursement mechanism, so that the 2022 BSU will be immediately distributed and the benefits will be felt by the recipients, namely workers and laborers. "The Presidential Staff Office has provided support so that the BSU program can be implemented and run effectively. KSP also invites various elements of society to jointly oversee and support the implementation of this BSU program," said Fadjar.
