3 Jepara Residents Arrested For Fighting Police When Revealing Drug Cases

JEPARA - Jepara Resort Police, Central Java, arrested three residents of Karanggondang Village, Mlonggo District, Jepara Regency, Central Java, for allegedly resisting officers while developing a drug trafficking case involving local residents.

"The three people who were arrested have the initials M (50), AN (22), and AM (18), all residents of Karanggondang Village," said Jepara Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP M. Fahrur Rozi, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 13.

He revealed that the three were named as suspects. Meanwhile, a suspect with the initials DT (24) who is also a resident of Karanggondang Village has been placed on the wanted list (DPO).

As for the chronology of the incident, on May 6, 2022, Jepara Police officers conducted an investigation into a drug dealer named Suyadi who was arrested along with evidence at his home in Karanggondang Village.

When the perpetrator was brought to his house to look for other evidence that was thrown away, another officer conducted a search inside the house and instead met resistance from the perpetrator's family, who is currently a suspect.

One of the perpetrators with the initials DT, who is the younger brother of a suspect in a drug case, snatched the phone from the perpetrator, which was secured by officers. He also committed acts of vandalism and violence against officers, causing injuries.

"There was also a commotion in the house and drug offenders took advantage of the situation to escape," he said.

For this condition, the officers asked for support from the Mlonggo Police and the Jepara Police so that the situation was finally resolved. Officers secured the suspects who are relatives of the perpetrators of drug cases along with a number of evidences for further processing.

The perpetrators were threatened with Article 214 of the Criminal Code or Article 213 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 211 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 212 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison.
