JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno revealed that the row of K-Pop artists who will hold concerts or fan meetings in Indonesia shows an improvement in tourism conditions.

"(Tourism) is starting well, because all of you like K-pop, they (K-pop artists) see this market as very potential," said Sandiaga at the Vice President's Palace in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, May 12.

At least six K-pop concerts and fan meetings of South Korean artists will be observed in Indonesia in 2022.

"This should also encourage our local talents because they are managed well and the products are also very attractive, finally the fan base is very large. Now we provide facilities in organizing the event because this is also part of the revival of the event organizers sector," said Sandiaga .

Sandiaga hopes that the arrival of foreign artists can motivate domestic artists to be not only spectators but also players by developing the potential of domestic artists.

"Indeed, the market is different (between K-pop artists and domestic artists) but we should be called to develop more and that's according to market tastes. If the market starts to move and for example, dangdut koplo is liked, it could be an opportunity for Indonesian artists too, "added Sandiaga.
