JAKARTA - Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo stated that there were two elements of the masses who took part in a demonstration at the Horse Statue in the Monas area, Central Jakarta, Thursday, May 12.

From the results of the data collection, the mass elements carrying out the demonstration came from labor groups from the SPN and KSPSI as well as Trisakti students who were going to celebrate the day of reform.

"We will place them at the Horse Statue roundabout, especially in front of the Sapta Pesona building," said Kombes Sambodo to reporters, Thursday, May 12.

While the security scheme carried out by the Polda Metro Jaya in the Horse Statue area, if the number of people is estimated to be below 2 thousand people, the horse statue roundabout area has not been closed.

"So we only regulate (traffic) at the horse statue roundabout, but if the crowd is large enough and closes the horse statue roundabout, we will carry out the diversion," he said.

Traffic diversion will be implemented starting from Jalan Kebon Sirih, Budi Kemuliaan, then the United States Embassy and so on to access the Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta.

Meanwhile, if the crowd has arrived and the security wire barrier has been stretched, continued Kombes Sambodo, it means that traffic flow from the Horse Statue roundabout towards Harmoni and vice versa will be closed.

"Including those from Gambir to the Palace, which we call Bandung 9, we will also close," he explained.

Sambodo explained, currently several elements of workers and students have walked to the Horse Statue area.

"We have prepared an escort, they are currently on their way. One of them is the mass of workers from Tangerang, we have escorted them," he said.

However, Kombes Sambodo has not been able to specify the exact number of people who will take to the streets.

"I don't know yet, we'll see how things develop on the field," he said.
