NTT - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) I Gusti Ayu Bintang Puspayoga praised the correctional center (Bapas) which often oversees legal cases of children in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"I am grateful for the role of the fathers who continue to provide assistance to children's cases from the beginning to the end," he said in a written statement received in Kupang, Wednesday, May 11.

He said this in a limited meeting with the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights NTT, the Chair of the NTT DPRD, the Head of the NTT PPPA Service, and the Secretary of the South Central Timor Regency during a working visit in NTT from 10-11 May 2022.

Currently in all of NTT there are 34 students who are undergoing coaching, 25 of which are at the Kupang Children's Special Guidance Institute (LPKA), which consists of 24 boys and 1 girl.

Bintang Puspayoga expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of the NTT Kemenkumham Regional Office for supporting child protection programs and handling child cases in NTT.

She said the NTT Ministry of Law and Human Rights played a major role in supporting the realization of the Child Friendly Regency/City Program which included encouraging local governments to form the Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA) as per the PPPA Ministry's policy.

"In NTT, one of the UPTDs has been formed in Timor Tengah Selatan Regency," he said.

During a working visit to NTT, the Minister of PPPA visited and had a dialogue with correctional students (andikpas) at LPKA Kupang. He also took the time to review the works of the andikpas and at the same time buy them.
