SEMARANG - The mother with the initials RS (34) who failed to commit suicide after smothering her child, KA (5) to death, turned out to be entangled in online or online loans.

Semarang Police Chief Kombes Pol. Irwan Anwar said that the perpetrator, who is a resident of Banyumanik, killed his biological child at a hotel in the Jalan S. Parman area, Semarang, Tuesday, May 10.

"This woman admitted that her colleague had borrowed her ID card to apply for an online loan. It turned out that the bill came to her," said Irwan in Semarang, Central Java, Wednesday, May 11.

Irwan explained that the perpetrator had a problem with her husband. Without the husband's permission, he used his savings of Rp. 38 million.

The perpetrator himself, he continued, had the intention to run away with his first child from the start.

Due to concern for her husband, according to Antara's report, the perpetrator took the initiative to commit suicide with his son.

"The victim was smothered by the perpetrator while sleeping, then the perpetrator intended to commit suicide by drinking soapy water and wrapping a towel around his neck," he said.

However, Irwan said the perpetrator's life was still saved in the incident.

Currently, continued Irwan, investigators are still investigating the suspect's statement about his colleague with the initials SS who borrowed his ID card as collateral for an online loan.

"The loan was Rp. 12 million, then the bill became Rp. 38 million," he said.

For his actions, the suspect will be charged with Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection.
