BATAM - Bank Riau Kepri Batam Branch Riau Islands made a police report related to the alleged skimming case (the theft of data using special tools), Wednesday 11 May.

In the report, according to Harry, this incident was known by two witnesses who are employees of Bank Riau Kepri when conducting routine checks on ATM machines in the PriMart area, Tiban Center, Sunday (1/5).

During the inspection, officers found two skimmers which were suspected to have been planted several days earlier. Knowing this, Bank Riau Kepri immediately checked several other ATM machines.

"From the results of the inspection, it was found skimmers in ATM machines at HBC Plaza, Sekupang and in ATM machines at the Jodoh Center. In total there are three ATM machines that have been planted by skimmers by the perpetrators," said Harry, quoted by Antara.

Not only skimmers, the reporter also included two pieces of evidence in the form of CCTV footage.

"From the report, the losses experienced reached Rp. 800 million. For how many customers were affected, it is still not stated," said Harry.

Harry also explained that currently the report and evidence will be directly studied by investigators from the Special Crimes Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Riau Islands Police.

"Immediately handed over to investigators to be studied and explored by the Ditreskrimsus," he said.
