President Joko Widodo And His Entourage Of Ministers Arrive In Washington DC

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo, First Lady Iriana, and their entourage arrived at Andrews Military Base, Washington DC, United States, Tuesday (10/5), around 21.40 local time or 08.40 WIB, Wednesday 11 May. hours of flight from Jakarta and transit in Amsterdam, a Garuda Indonesia aircraft with flight code GIA-1 landed at the airport belonging to the United States military, as quoted from a statement from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat.

After the plane door opened, the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Rosan Roeslani boarded the plane and invited President Jokowi and Iriana to get off the plane. Furthermore, on the steps of the plane, the Indonesian Ambassador and his wife welcomed the President and Iriana. The President and his entourage then headed to the hotel and started their work agenda on Wednesday local time. Upon arrival at the hotel, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, who had arrived in the US early, welcomed President Jokowi and Iriana.

Also accompanying President Jokowi on his visit to the US were the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi, and Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia. During a working visit to Washington During these two days, the President was scheduled to attend a series of meetings of the ASEAN-US Special Summit (ASEAN-US Special Summit). Several meetings scheduled to be attended by the President include: 1. Meeting with members of Congress; 2. Meetings with major CEOs in the United States;3. Meeting with US Vice President Kamala Harris and the Americas Climate Change Team; and4. Summit of ASEAN Leaders and US President Joe Biden.

After the series of meetings were completed on Friday (13/5), the President returned from the US and is scheduled to arrive in the country on Sunday, May 15.
