Former Village Head And His Son In Pasangkayu, West Sulawesi Become Suspects Of Village Fund Corruption

MAMUJU - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pasangkayu Police of West Sulawesi revealed a case of alleged corruption in the misuse of village funds. The police named IK, the former head of Benggaulu village, and LI, his son, as suspects.

The Deputy Chief of the Pasangkayu Police, Kompol Eduard Steffry Allan Telussa, said that from the disclosure, the police identified two suspects, namely IK, a former Benggaulu village head and his son with the initials LI.

The Deputy Chief of Police conveyed that the alleged corruption in the misuse of village funds by IK and LI, their children, was carried out in the 2017 2018 and 2019 fiscal years.

"This alleged criminal act of corruption in village funds occurred when suspect IK was still serving as the village head of Benggaulu. Suspect LI is IK's biological son. He (LI) acts as a partner in the village activity implementation team," said Eduard, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, May 10. .

Based on the results of the Wakapolres further investigation, the motives of the suspects were to use the village fund corruption money for personal purposes.

"So, the suspect took advantage of his position as Kades of Benggaulu District of Dapurang in the current year period in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Both of them were suspected of corruption in village funds amounting to Rp. 704.6 million," explained Eduard.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pasangkayu Police, Iptu Ronald Suhartawan Hadipura, said that the suspect had been detained since February 4, 2022.

"The suspect IK was detained based on the Detention Order Number: sp.han/22/II/2022l/Reskrim dated February 4, 2022. While LI was detained based on the Detention Order Number: sp.han/23/II/2022l/Reskrim dated February 4, 2022 ," he said, Ronald Suhartawan.
