Kasatreskrim Polresta Kendari AKP I Gede Pranata Wiguna said the man who was detained had the initials IS (32) and was arrested on Sunday, May 8. IS stole a motorbike parked at the house of a resident named Zakariah (66).

"After receiving the report from the victim, we conducted a search and arrested the perpetrator on Sunday, May 8, 2022," he said in Kendari, Antara, Tuesday, May 10.

AKP I Gede Pranata revealed that the IS suspect carried out the action on January 25, 2022 at 01.30 WITA in Anggalomela Village, Abeli District, Kendari City.

"Initially the suspect went around, then saw the vehicle was not locked neck (handles) between the two houses," he said.

The IS suspect then pushed and took the motorbike belonging to the resident named Zakariah (66) away from the victim's house. The IS suspect admitted to police that the vehicle was taken for his daily use because he did not have a motorbike.

In addition to the evidence of a motorbike that was taken by the suspect, the police also secured two other motorbikes which were not equipped with documents.

He said that his party is currently developing a case of alleged theft of the motorcycle.

"We are still investigating this case because from the suspect we also found two motorbikes without documents," said AKP I Gede Pranata Wiguna.

The IS suspect was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with aggravating the threat of a maximum prison sentence of 7 years.
