DPDR Kotim Condemns Companies That Do Not Register BPJS Employees

SAMPIT - Member of Commission III DPRD East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan Riskon Fabiansyah highlighted that there are still many companies that have not carried out the obligation to register all their workers in the health insurance program, namely BPJS Health. (PBS) has not fully carried out these obligations," said Riskon in Sampit, Tuesday, May 10. The young Golkar politician explained that based on Law Number 24 of 2011 concerning BPJS, companies are required to include their employees in this health protection program.

This is reinforced by Government Regulation No. 86 of 2013, which clearly states that any business entity that does not include its workers in the BPJS program can be given strict sanctions. The sanctions range from administrative sanctions to revocation of business licenses. According to the man who is also the Deputy Chairperson of the East Kotawaringin DPRD Bapemperda, large companies that do not include their workers in BPJS Health and Employment, are not paying attention to the welfare of employees. Health is crucial and has an impact on employee performance.

This is also reinforced by Presidential Regulation Number 111 of 2013 concerning Health Insurance. It was emphasized, in the event that the worker has not been registered with BPJS Health, the employer must be responsible when the employee needs health services according to the benefits provided by BPJS Kesehatan. Risk reminds the company to be fully responsible for the safety and fate of each employee. The rules in this country also require companies to provide guarantees to workers, one of which is by registering their workers as participants in BPJS Health and BPJS Employment. In fact, it is one of the basics for the RSPO (Roundtable On Sustainable Palm Oil) certificate," said Riskon. The goal is to encourage companies to fulfill their obligations to register their workers as participants in BPJS Health and BPJS Employment.
