Skateboarders Passing On Jalan Gatot Subroto Are Sanctioned, In The Form Of Reprimand And Statement Letter

JAKARTA - The process of examining the roller skates that went viral because they crossed the Jalan Gatot Subroto section has been completed. The police decided to give a warning in the form of a warning.

"We are taking non-justicial repressive measures, meaning we call the person concerned and provide education," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Tuesday, May 10.

Then, the roller skaters were also asked to make a statement. It contained a promise not to repeat the action of 'skating' on the road.

This is because their actions are very dangerous for other road users because they can cause traffic accidents.

"What these skaters have done has caused disturbances to the Traffic Kamsebtibcar (security, safety of order, and smooth traffic) and this is very dangerous," he said.

The sanctions were only given in the form of a warning and a statement letter because it was the first time their actions were taken. So, said Sambodo, providing education is considered much more important.

"Because this is the first time this has been done, we are providing educational and educational warnings and at the same time providing an explanation to the public that what these fellow cyclists are doing is certainly wrong and violates the rules," said Sambodo.

Previously, there were three rules that were violated by tail-wheelers on Jalan Gatot Subroto. Starting from Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ) to the National Police Chief Regulation (Perkap).

The first rule is Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning LLAJ. This rule regulates the safety of all road users.

This is because the roller skates use the middle lane which is intended for riders with a fairly high speed.

"Because it is carried out (wheel skating, ed) on roads that are used for public traffic. The Traffic Act prioritizes safety for all road users," said Head of Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Jamal Alam.

Then, there is also Government Regulation (PP) number 34 of 2006. This rule prohibits the use of roads that cause disruption of road functions.

The last rule is the National Police Chief's Regulation No. 10 of 2012. This rule regulates that the use of roads other than for traffic activities must have a permit from the police.
