JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has appointed the President Director of PT Himalaya Energi Perkasa or PT HD Capital, Piter Rasiman as a new suspect in the alleged corruption case of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero).

Head of the Attorney General's Office of Legal Information, Hari Setiyono, said that Piter Rasiman was determined based on sufficient preliminary evidence.

"Has named the suspect on behalf of PR as a private party," Hari told reporters, Monday, October 12.

Based on preliminary evidence, Piter Rasiman is suspected of having links with several defendants in this case, including Joko Hartono Tirto and Heru Hidayat. He is said to have created a company to collect money from corruption crimes.

"The alleged involvement is that this suspect made the company to use investment arrangements made by the defendants using money originating from PT Asuransi Jiwasraya," said Hari.

Piter Rasiman will be detained for the next 20 days. He is also accused of Article 2 paragraph 1 subsidiary article 3 of Law Number 31 Year 1999 jo Law Number 20 Year 2001 concerning Corruption Crime.

The suspect was also charged with criminal charges in Article 3 of Law Number 8 Year 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. Article 4 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

"As of today Monday, October 12, 2020 and will be placed in the Salemba detention center, the South Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office," he said.
