Do Not Want The Incident At Water Park Surabaya To Repeat Itself, The Gresik Police Checks All Tourist Locations

JAKARTA - Gresik Police guarantees the safety of water slides at a number of tourist sites in this region. They don't want an incident like what happened at the Water Park in Surabaya.

Gresik Police Chief, AKBP Mochamad Nur Azis in his written statement, said a number of members were sent to tourist attractions to ensure the safety of water slides. The police also reminded tourist attractions to apply the Care Protect application for visitors.

"Hopefully, apart from securing tourist sites, it also reduces the risk of spreading COVID-19 in tourist attractions in Gresik Regency," said AKBP Mochamad Nur Azis quoted from Antara, Monday 9 May.

He also warned the management to ensure the safety of the waterslide and avoid accidents.

"Alhamdulillah, the situation for Kamtibmas during the Lebaran holiday in Gresik remains conducive. This is thanks to the cooperation and efforts of all parties," he said.

Meanwhile, Public Relations of Dynasty Water World Gresik, H. Jaerrudin admitted that the impact of the incident at Kenpark Surabaya made visitors worried.

"We have also confirmed that there are officers on the waterslide who arrange it so that it does not exceed capacity, but they are still worried and reduce the vacation period," said Jaerrudin.

Jaerrudin admitted that every day before opening for visitors, the manager always checks the safety of the swimming pool facilities.

Dynasty Water World Gresik is located on Jalan Rantau, Sukomulyo Village, Manyar District, Gresik and has a water ride of 10,000 square meters and can accommodate up to 500 visitors.

Previously, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa reminded regional heads to check the existing tourism facilities in each district/city.

"This is to anticipate unwanted things such as at the Kenpark swimming pool happening elsewhere," he said.

He asked the regent/mayor to ensure that the calibration process is carried out regularly and that all game facilities are safe and suitable for use.

In the future, he continued, there must be more intensive calibration or pick-and-drop tests for the safety and suitability of all game tools.
