Ma'ruf Amin Meets Jokowi At The Merdeka Palace, Halalbihalal While Talking Lightly

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo received a visit from Vice President Ma'ruf Amin for halalbihalal at the Merdeka Palace today. Jokowi greeted Ma'ruf as he got out of the car in front of the Palace and headed for the room to talk.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono in the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show.

"Of course, this afternoon the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia visited the President of the Republic of Indonesia in order to maintain the atmosphere of Eid, to discuss with each other and of course have a light discussion," said Heru, Monday, May 9.

During the conversation, Jokowi and Ma'ruf also discussed their respective work agendas for today and some time in the future. Jokowi is scheduled to fly to the United States on Tuesday, May 10 and return on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

In the United States, Jokowi will attend the Asean-US Special Summit held in Washington DC on 12 and 13 May 2022. After that, Jokowi will have a meeting with the founder of the SpaceX rocket company, Elon Musk.

Therefore, Jokowi has assigned Ma'ruf to replace him for the 2022 National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian Provincial Government Association (APPSI) which will be held tonight in Bali. Ma'ruf flew to Bali at 14.00 WIB today.

"The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia also said that he would go to Bali as the task delegated by the President and the Vice President will attend an association of governors throughout Indonesia," said Heru.

"Coincidentally, the President was unable to attend and because tomorrow morning he will leave for the United States. On that occasion, the Vice President said goodbye and he could not accompany the president because he still has duties in Bali," he added.
