SEMARANG - The process of law enforcement for companies that do not pay holiday allowances in Central Java continues to be carried out by the Central Java Provincial Government. As of Sunday 8 May, there were 205 complaints. And of that amount, 71 companies finally paid their workers THR in full.

Head of the Central Java Manpower and Transmigration Service Sakina Rosellasari said that complaints related to THR continued to come in until the sixth day after Eid. The complaint was dominated by reports from companies in the garment sector.

"The majority are dominated by cases of unpaid THR, there are 90 complaints. Apart from the garment sector, there are complaints from hotels, cafes, hospitals, the food industry, courier services and furniture. The most complaints from the Semarang area were 66 complaints. Then 46 complaints in the Surakarta area," said Sakina, Monday 9 May.

He said that his party was continuing to follow up on complaints that were submitted to the THR Command Post. This is done by deploying labor inspectors and collaborating with the regency or local government to mediate.

Sakina detailed that the labor inspector had issued inspection notes for 25 companies. There are also 18 companies that are in the stage of issuing inspection notes. Meanwhile, 63 companies are in the follow-up process.

From the reports that came in, there were four complaints which were later withdrawn by the complainant. In addition, there were four complaints whose company addresses were not found. Meanwhile, 19 complaints were categorized as workers who were not entitled to THR according to the Minister of Manpower Regulation 6/2016 and PP 63/2021.

According to regulations, those who are not entitled to THR, among others, are apprentices, or those whose contract period expires before Eid.

"From the results of mediation and examination, Alhamdulillah THR which was later paid in full was 71 companies. We have informed all the complainants the progress of handling, so even though they are on holiday, the handling continues," he said.

Lastly, Sakina emphasized that the Central Java Manpower and Transmigration Office will continue to follow up on incoming complaints. Until now, he said, no company had been given a second inspection note.

Later, if the company does not comply with regulations, sanctions will be given. The punishment given is the imposition of a fine of 5 percent of the amount of THR received by each worker.
